Eligibility Criteria

Prospective participants must meet all 6 criteria listed below in order to be enrolled in the Access To Recovery program:

  1. Does this person have an opioid use disorder, a history of using opioids, or at risk for developing an opioid use disorder, and are they motivated to work on their recovery?
  2. Would this person be considered in the early stages of recovery (two years or less)?
  3. Is the person a Massachusetts resident and reside in Greater Boston, Greater Springfield, Worcester, or New Bedford, and do they plan to be there for at least the next 6 months?
  4. Is this person 18 years old or older?
  5. Is this person connected with a case manager (or some other staff person) in the recovery community?
  6. Participant identifies with at least one of the following target groups:
    • Has this person recently been released from incarceration?
    • Is this person currently a participant in a MA Drug Court?
    • Has this person served in the U.S. Military?
    • Is this person a pregnant, post-partum or parenting woman with children under 18 living in the home?
    • Is this person currently receiving medication for addiction treatment? If yes, which type?
      • Methadone
      • Buprenorphine (Suboxone/Subutex)
      • Injectable Naltroxone (Vivitrol)
    • Location Specific Criteria:
      • Boston: Person is part of an OTP (methadone/buprenorphine) or BSAS funded/licensed  OBOT (buprenorphine/naltrexone) treatment program.
      • Springfield, Worcester, or New Bedford: Person is part of any substance use program.
