SPECIAL PROJECTS
Recovery Based Reentry Services for Black and Latino Men
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts identified the need to support a specific population of individuals re-entering the community from incarceration with substance use disorders (SUDs) through a culturally specific approach. At ATR, our team saw this opportunity as a chance to reach a critical population that has been underrepresented in the history of traditional ATR services. An ATR Care Coordinator works directly with Black and Latino men who are re-entering the community, seeking the guidance to rebuild, restore, and recover.
ATR follows a participant-driven approach; we believe that every individual in recovery gets to define their own recovery path. For our re-entry participants, this is an opportunity to take agency over their lives and make a new choice.

ATR+ Initiative
Access to Recovery Plus, (ATR+) is a grant funded pilot initiative, delivers a structured pathway to employment for individuals with substance use disorder who are reentering the community from incarceration. ATR Care Coordinators provide individualized support to ATR+ participants through our customized 3-step career service model. This model focuses on closing the digital literacy gap and providing formerly incarcerated individuals with the opportunity to build the fundamental job readiness skills needed to thrive in the workforce. Identified reentry partners in Boston, Lowell and Holyoke/Springfield can submit referrals for participants to access this unique, employment focused recovery support service.
*ATR+ is funded by a grant from the Massachusetts Department of Correction and Massachusetts Probation Service.
